The Curing Childhood Cancer License Plate will be a state-wide program through the Illinois Secretary of State's office allowing Illinois residents the opportunity to purchase a license plate for their vehicles to support childhood cancer research.
The Curing Childhood Cancer License Plate was initiated by one mom, Jennifer Pramuk, and her daughter Zoe who has leukemia (now in remission). An equal portion of the proceeds from each license plate purchase will go to the Curing Childhood Cancer Fund to support research efforts at the Children's Oncology Group and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
In order to endorse the full-time availability of this specialty plate Illinois residents and supporters need to secure 1,500 preorders to the Secretary of State’s office within a two year period beginning January 1, 2014. If 1,500 orders are not reached within two years money collected will be split and donated between the two organizations as intended.
Supporters can preorder their desired number of plates by going to cyberdriveillinois.com and searching for Specialty Plates (Curing Childhood Cancer). The cost per preorder is $50. The state will begin production of the specialty plate once the 1,500 minimum preorders have been reached.
